Rush grew up in Austin, Texas where he graduated high school in 2012. He played several sports throughout his childhood including baseball, football, and basketball. In high school Rush focused on cross country and track, with running personal records of a 16:53 5k, 10:43 2 mile, and 4:57 1 mile. Before starting college Rush trained for and completed two triathlons. He attended Texas A&M University where he graduated in 2016 with a degree in Kinesiology. While at Texas A&M Rush was a member of Company H-1 in the Corps of Cadets, which required a lot of physical activity including daily workouts ranging from runs, calisthenics, and obstacle courses.
After he graduated Rush lived in Austin for a year where he worked at Texas Orthopedics gaining experience in physical therapy and at Gold’s Gym training clients. In 2017, Rush and his wife Emily moved to Little Rock so she could attend the Physician Assistant program at UAMS. Since then Rush has worked at Physical Therapy Institute doing personal training and assisting in physical therapy. Rush joined the Proformance team in September 2018 and is dedicated to helping young athletes improve their fitness, remain injury free, and help them develop a strong mindset that will carry over into everything they do.
Rush’s strong passion for fitness led him to obtain post-college credentials including a Certified Personal Trainer, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Corrective Exercise Specialist, and most recently the Functional Movement Screening Certification. Whether it is getting athletes faster and stronger, or helping clients build muscle or lose weight Rush is dedicated to helping everyone who trains at Proformance Sports Academy!
