Sam is a Little Rock, Arkansas native. He graduated from Palaski Academy where he was all-state in baseball and football. Hitting 14 homeruns and batting .481 during his senior season. He was also a stand out in the All Star Game where he was awarded the Central Arkansas MVP. Because of his baseball success while at PA, he was invited to the team USA 18U trials in North Carolina.

After high school Sam continued his baseball career while attending the University of Arkansas Little Rock playing in the Sunbelt. He redshirted his first year putting him with the Trojans for 5 seasons. He earned the position of starting outfielder for UALR his last 3 seasons and hit 12 career homeruns. The most memorable being a 2 homerun game on Easter Sunday against Troy and a 3 run homerun to help defeat the top 10 Oklahoma Sooners.  Sam said of his last college season, “I was fortunate to play under coach Chris Curry in my last season. Learning from him and his coaching staff taught me so much about the game, but also about life.”

Sam furthered his baseball skill set while playing 2 summers in Wichita, Kansas where he was a Walter Johnson League All-Star both summers. His power behind the bat also lead him to a league leading 10 homeruns in a summer wood bat league.

Sam’s love for baseball remained and his passion for the game lead him to an opportunity to coach for a U-trip baseball team. He coached for 2 years and lead his team to a 3rd place spot in the World Series out of an impressive field of 36. Sam’s spark for coaching and teaching the game the right way ultimately lead him to Proformance. “I love coaching and want to give back the things I have learned to help kids get to the next level. I believe in helping young athletes grow in their character, on and off the field. Dustin and his team want to do the same and that is something I want to be a part of.” Sam is eager to share his knowledge with our Proformance athletes. His accomplishments, successes, and work ethic on and off the field set the perfect example for our young athletes.  “Baseball has always been a passion of mine because it teaches you so much about life!”
